weather variables
The knowledge of the dynamic and meteorological context, the origin of air masses and the height of the boundary layer are fundamental elements for analyzing and interpreting the atmospheric composition.
For this, weather stations are in continuous operation in Cézeaux, Opme and Puy de Dôme. Back-trajectories are calculated systematically and are available here.
The height of the boundary layer, another important parameter for the interpretation of measurements, can be calculated with the COPLid lidar in operation on the Cézeaux site.
It can be necessary to extend measurements of wind and atmospheric composition (water vapor, aerosols, clouds) vertically, which is made possible by the development of measurements by lidar, radar and other wind profilers and makes of COPDD, with the support of Cnes, a privileged site for the validation of sensors on board satellites and comparison of data according to their spatial representativeness.
